Pet Peeves, Complaints, Rants

I feel like a rant is in order today to start off the weekend.

How about you?

My top ten Pet Peeves for Friday!

1. People who read aloud while typing.
Why do you do this? Somehow you must know that it is not only annoying but you sound like an idiot. This is especially annoying when the person can’t type because then they are even saying the words slowly.

2. Noisy Eaters
What did we invite cookie monster to eat lunch with us? All I hear is ommm yummm yummm, lips smacking and the sound of chewing. You are so gross....I should however thank you for the five pounds I have lost since you started joining us for lunch. Nothing curbs an appetite like a noisy gross eater. Also you people who eat with your fingers....stop laughing you are just as gross!

3. Dirty Computer/laptop keyboards
As an IT Manager I find it extremely disturbing when someone calls for desktop support and I have to touch their disgusting, grimy, crumb laden keyboard. I get that unless you are experiencing a technical problem then you are the only one touching that thing but still....ewww. To make matters worse what they hell were you eating toast? There are so many crumbs between the keys its like god damn cement. That why the fracking F key isn’t working you idiot half of your lunch is smashed between it and the G key. Sorry, its just so disturbing. Heres a tip.....turn your machine off. Pick your keyboard up. Place a trash can under neath and shake the damn thing. Then get a rag spray some cleaner on it and wipe all that sludge off thats stuck to the keys. Ugh. You could feed Africa with your keyboard crumbs.
You will be a hero..... you slob.

4. Being put on speaker phone
Warning! the next time I call you and you put me on speaker phone without telling me I am on speaker phone I WILL say something embarrassing like.......”The doctor says the itching will stop soon”. Or “You have the crabs”. Or “stop sending me pictures of your penis/vagina.” Nothing is more annoying then being sneak attacked with the speaker phone. I am random. I say random inappropriate shit. I don’t want the whole damn office to hear. Also I may want to talk trash about someone....I don’t want them to know that I am mean like that. The speaker phone is for conference calls not because you want to look important or because your too damn lazy to lift up the receiver.

5. People who can’t control their children
Yeah I said control. I don’t want to hear any bleeding crap about....children should be treated like adults and respected. No children should be treated like children. I have yet to see a child be reasoned with. I have yet to see a child handle something maturely. Do you know why? Because they are Children! Stop taking the lazy route and letting them run around like maniacs destroying waiting rooms or stores and then saying stuff like....”Oh they are just being kids” or “They are expressing themselves” Bullshit No they are not! They are misbehaving because you are too lazy to teach them the proper way to behave. I have children. They are older now but when they were young I would say “We are going into the store now. Behave yourself or else” I don’t really know what the “or else” was. They don’t know what the “or else” was and neither of us wanted to find out so all was good. Teach them that the park or the back yard is the place for running around. The waiting room or the store is for quietly sitting. Smaller children who can not sit quietly should be entertained in some way. Read to the child instead of you flicking through a magazine while they run around cracking people in the knee with their toy truck. Bottom line stop being lazy parents and making up new age reasons for why you are not correcting, disciplining or teaching your children the proper way to behave.

6. Drivers who insist on pulling out in front of you like a nut and then drive ultra slow.
If you were in such a freaking rush that you had to practically kill me why the hell are you know going so slow? Did you realize you weren’t as late as you thought?
Or are you just a dick?

7. Loud Sneezers
We get it you had to sneeze. Whats with all the drama attention whore?

8. People who spit when they talk
I took a shower this morning thanks. Say it don’t spray it. There are many little curtsey things to say when someone spits while talking but I like to say....”what they holy f is wrong with your mouth that you cannot contain your own saliva?” seriously people get that shit checked out. If you are producing as much saliva as an English Mastiff then you should maybe see a doctor. The gross factor is exacerbated when the spitter is also a close talker. Don’t bother trying to back up cause they will just keep coming at you until you back into a wall or into a street.
Even then they will keep following you yammering on spit flying. trust me you will pray for death.

9. People who ask your opinion and then get mad when you give it
Ugh Ugh Ugh. yes this one is a three ugher! I HATE this. Do I even remotely seem like the type of person who would NOT have my own opinion? Then why ask me something if you just want me to regurgitate your own opinion back to you? For fracks sake if you want your own opinion then just ask yourself and stop looking for validation. Have some confidence....geez. The fact that you then get mad because I have a different opinion is insane. That is the whole point of an opinion....its yours! No one can tell you what your opinion is....so stop trying. If you ask me if I think your skirt is too short...and I think it is then I am going to say “yes I think it is too short” I am not going to be mean about it thats not my thing but I am going to be truthful. If you say “do you like the show blah blah blah” and I hate that show then I am going to say “no that show sucks monkey ass”
That doesn’t mean there is something wrong with you because you like it.
It just means your taste in television sucks!

10. People who stand to close in line or while sitting, standing walking....
There is a reason I keep looking back at you and its not because you are awesome. Its because you are practically in my ass. I expect this with my kids. Ever since their birth I am completely certain they are trying to get back into the womb. I have never sat on a sofa in their presence when one or the other was not completely molded against me. Don’t even try to walk with my daughter because she will trip you with her giant feet she is walking so close. I also expect this with my mother. It is common family knowledge that my mother MUST touch you in some when when she is standing next to you or walking with you. God forbid its a hot day cause that lovely woman who birthed, cared and fed you is gonna get pushed if she doesn’t give you at least two inches of space. She is also a close walker and will walk into you... then you will try to move.... she will keep coming. The next thing you know you are smashed against the glass of a clothing store and she is still trying to get closer. Sorry Mom...Love Ya. But all this is well and good when its people you love. When its some stranger who is freaking breathing down your neck its just creepy. Here is a scenario. I like to go to the movies by myself. I will pick a nice little spot just for me. The theater isn’t crowded I should be good. Then for some damn reason a fellow lone movie goer sits right the hell next to me. Why? I don’t want your company. If I wanted company I would have asked someone to come with me. It’s not my fault you don’t have any friends.
Did you ever think your neediness is the reason for that?
Space people its all about personal space.
Lets respect it okay?

Have a freaky Friday!

That is inappropriate!

One of my favorite words is.... inappropriate.
I use it all of the time.....even when the use of the word is inappropriate
I have been told on numerous occasions that I say "inappropriate" too much

But I don't care.

So I thought I would take my love of books and my love for inappropriate and combine them together
Here are some inappropriate book covers

It looks like E.T. doesn't want your damn letters. I am pretty sure he is giving you the finger.
And his eyes are definitely saying "keep your shit to yourself I don't give an F."
He looks like he is saying "bitch you see what you wrote right here I don't like it"

I hope this is a parody otherwise....I'm scared
That silhouette looks like the lady on truck mud flaps.
Gynecology should never be down home it should be steril and in a medical type facility.

I gave this to my Grandmom....she didn't think it was funny.

Ummmmmmm Really? I am worried about Dr. Charlie Shedd's children.
What is in his hand? Is that a chloroform filled rag?
It's not some much the cover that is inappropriate as it is the title.
If the title was
Men in Turtleneck sweaters are good lovers
then this cover would be fine.

I am feeling quite certain that he is either a Pedophile or about to get charged with Sexual harassment?
He is also very clumsy.
I think the woman is also maybe dressed a little inappropriate for work or school.

The look on the boys face......priceless.

I swear I cry laughing every time I look at that last one!

Have a very inappropriate day!

Holy Sh*t I am a zombie

My brother texted me this morning and told me that I had to download this awesome app for my iPad.

It's called Zombiebooth and it turns your photo into zombies.
Well not the actual photo
and not an actual zombie
but you get what I mean......right?

It is amazing!
I will probably get fired because since downloading it
I have just been walking around with my iPad taking pictures of my co-workers.
This is what mine looks like. I made it into a little movie.
I would share the others but I don't feel like asking for their permission.

So freaking awesome right?

Well you know what i will be doing for the rest of the day. If you want me to turn you into a zombie email me a pic and I can upload it to my ipad.

What the hell am I doing here? I don't belong here.

I finished reading my blog friend Jennifer Hillier's book Creep last week.
Here is the synopsis from Barnes and Noble

If he can’t have her . . .
Dr. Sheila Tao is a professor of psychology. An expert in human behavior. And when she began an affair with sexy, charming graduate student Ethan Wolfe, she knew she was playing with fire. Consumed by lust when they were together, riddled with guilt when they weren’t, she knows the three-month fling with her teaching assistant has to end. After all, she’s finally engaged to a kind and loving investment banker who adores her, and she’s taking control of her life. But when she attempts to end the affair, Ethan Wolfe won’t let her walk away.

Thrillers and Horror are my favorite types of books. I have stated what a giant Stephen King fan I am numerous times. He happens to be one of Jennifer's favorites as well.
Creep had me on the edge of my seat right up to the very end. The character's are well developed and you feel an instant connection to the main character Sheila. Although I have to say her fiance Morris was my favorite character and I have a little crush on him. I worried for his safety sadly more then I worried about Sheila....not that I didn't like Sheila its just that I really liked Morris.
This book is a great beach read as it is fast paced and easy to get into. I don't suggest reading it if you are supposed to be watching your kids in the ocean or pool because.....well you won't be watching them because you will be thrust into the world of Dr. Tao, sex addiction, crazy ex-lovers and lovable Morris.
If you are a fan of Tess Gerritsen or Jeffrey Deaver then you will enjoy Jennifer Hillier's thriller Creep.
It's a thrilling thriller that will thrill you.

Jennifer also has a really awesome blog http://www.jenniferhillier.ca/
Stop by for a visit.

Have a Magical Monday!

Zombie Apocalypse Bunker

Stacey's got me thinking about zombies.

I think it is a good idea to build a shelter.

Here are some guidelines I would follow:

Make your shelter large enough to have 30 square feet per person.
This will allow for space to sleep......I would go with collapsable bunks but that is just my preference.
Have a secure weapons room. This will be the space that all of your various defense weapons are stored, cleaned and repaired.
Food area should have enough food for the number of people you are supporting in your shelter.
Remember to have at least 1 gallon of water per day per person. A human can live on average 3 to 5 days without water and up to 3 weeks without food. I am sure neither would be a pleasant way to perish.
So its best not to have to find out how long you would last.
Medication, First Aid, Knives, Duct Tape, Flashlights, Batteries and Plastic bags are just a few other supply suggestions I recommend.
I also think it would be beneficial to have some form of entertainment.
Music, Books (of course) and games will be essential in order to keep away that feeling of confinement.
Ensuring that your air filtering system is in top working order is also essential as humans can only last a measley 3 minutes without air.

It is important to make sure your shelter is well stocked as the biggest key in surviving a zombie apocalypse is to AVOID THE ZOMBIES so the fewer trips you need to make to gather more supplies the better.

Are you claustrophobic? Afraid of small spaces? Have a fear of living for a period of time underground?

Check out this link for the first ever zombie proof house.

Also you should check out the CDC'S (Center for Disease Control) zombie preparedness 101....yes the CDC has everything you need to know for preparing for a zombie apocalypse as well as other disaster related information on their website.
Follow the link

I hope this information helps in your Zombie Apocalypse preparation.
Have a Thrilling Thursday

My Old Friend

I am feeling melancholy today.
At first I thought it was Post Potter Depression
But I realized it was just that
I was thinking about those I have loved and lost.
I usually try not to dwell on the fact that they are no longer here but rather try and remember how great it was to have had them in my life.

In particular it is my Aunt Stella whom I am missing today.
I was going through some of my Italy pictures from a trip we took and I was struck with that deep hollow feeling that is left after someone dies.
I was trying so hard not to laugh in this photo and she was trying so hard to make me laugh.
Aunt Stella and the Olive oil.
We were pretty well drunk from the wine tasting at this point and she just kept saying take my picture with this olive oil. I am pretty sure everyone on the tour....even people who were not with our group probably have this same picture.

She was a wondeful woman
Smart
Funny
Talented
She had the eye of an artist
Sadly lung cancer invaded her and took her away from everyone who loved her.

It has always irritated me that people react differently when you say someone died of lung cancer
It starts off with "Oh I am so sorry how did she die?" "Lung Cancer" "Oh she was a smoker"
Thats it.
As if it is her own fault that she got it.

She has been gone since October of 2007

I miss calling her at work
I miss traveling with her
Hearing her laugh
I miss her teaching me a new craft
I miss listening to her stories
Seeing her smile

This Tim McGraw song always reminds me of her.

Who do you miss and is there a song that makes you think of that person?

Have a wonderful Wednesday

And now back to our regularly scheduled program

The Potter Experience is now behind us
well at least as far as this blog is concerned.........but we will continue with Potter at our house forever.

Today I would like to talk to you about a wonderful book that I read

It is The Lantern by my blog friend Deborah Lawrenson
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book from the publisher Harper Collins

This is Deborah's first book published in America. The official release date is August 9th, 2011

Some background......

I stumbled upon Deborah's blog way back when I started mine.
I believe I found her from the She Writes group
I became enchanted with her use of words
Her blog reads like poetry
Everything she describes becomes almost three dimensional as you find yourself lost in her description.
Upon learning she had an upcoming novel I was very excited to read it.

Here is the synopsis from Harper Collins:

A modern gothic novel of love, secrets, and murder—set against the lush backdrop of Provence
Meeting Dom was the most incredible thing that had ever happened to me. When Eve falls for the secretive, charming Dom in Switzerland, their whirlwind relationship leads them to Les Genévriers, an abandoned house set among the fragrant lavender fields of the South of France. Each enchanting day delivers happy discoveries: hidden chambers, secret vaults, a beautiful wrought-iron lantern. Deeply in love and surrounded by music, books, and the heady summer scents of the French countryside, Eve has never felt more alive.
But with autumn’s arrival the days begin to cool, and so, too, does Dom. Though Eve knows he bears the emotional scars of a failed marriage—one he refuses to talk about—his silence arouses suspicion and uncertainty. The more reticent Dom is to explain, the more Eve becomes obsessed with finding answers—and with unraveling the mystery of his absent, beautiful ex-wife, Rachel.
Like its owner, Les Genévriers is also changing. Bright, warm rooms have turned cold and uninviting; shadows now fall unexpectedly; and Eve senses a presence moving through the garden. Is it a ghost from the past or a manifestation of her current troubles with Dom? Can she trust Dom, or could her life be in danger?
Eve does not know that Les Genévriers has been haunted before. Bénédicte Lincel, the house’s former owner, thrived as a young girl within the rich elements of the landscape: the violets hidden in the woodland, the warm wind through the almond trees. She knew the bitter taste of heartbreak and tragedy—long-buried family secrets and evil deeds that, once unearthed, will hold shocking and unexpected consequences for Eve.

The minute I received the novel I started reading it. Instantly I found myself transported to Provence......where I have never been but feel like I have now after reading. Her descriptions are so detailed that I longed for the scent of Lavender. It was just there I could almost smell it. In the end I went out and purchased a lavender candle which I lit every time I sat down to read. The story was haunting in a way that when you put it down you found yourself thinking about the characters and wondering where the story was leading you. Deborah's use of words is truly inspiring an amazing talent that I will forever be jealous of.
The story itself is told from the main character Eve's perspective as she meets Dom falls in love and then learns his secrets. The discoveries they make while living in their beautiful home made me wish I had bought an old home instead of new construction (well fairly new). How awesome would it be to find these treasures. I admit to not liking Dom at first but he redeems himself in the end and I love when an author has the ability to change my mind. Mixed in with Eve and Don's story is the story of the original owner of the home Benedicte....I loved this it was easy to fall in love with Benedicte's story.

I don't think my review.....as I have said in the past I am not a professional.....can give this book the praise it deserves.
So I will just say....trust me this book is beautifully written and you will be as enchanted as I was.

Now I want to go to Provence!

Have a magical filled Monday!

It All Ended....Please pass the tissues

Amber and I attempted to make a "vlog" I am pretty sure that is what it is called.
But we rambled too much and it ended up being 10 minutes long
we looked to see what the average vlog time was and it was like five minutes
So we decided it was too long.
If we are Facebook friends then you can watch it over there

I don't want to give anything away
You should go and see the movie as Soon as possible
It was amazing and absolutely everything I would want in a Harry Potter movie.

I will say Snape will crush your heart
I don't care if you hate Snape
you will weep for him

This is how the night went....
Amber and her friend Michelle went to the theater and 9 the line was already forming
so I was instructed to "get my ass to the theater"
thats how she talks to me
I failed as a mother
When we arrived the line was indeed long and filled with people dressed in various costumes
It was really awesome to see
Some were really good and probably cost a small fortune
We were boring in comparison
But not as boring as those who came in Muggle clothes
LAME
There were a few people trying to cut in line and that was annoying
You know like two friends holding a spot and then they keep inviting people and the next thing you know you have like twenty people extra in front of you
We entered the theater and picked our seats......not the seats of our pants silly but the seats we sat in
Christopher was really annoyed with the previews because they kept playing
the same ones over and over.
Finally the movie started
They did not do the usual music much to my disappointment
It just starts right in where the first one left off
Again I don't want to spoil so I will just say
laughter
tears
cheers
tears
tears
tears
tears
running snot
laughter
the end

Let me just say that

The NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH line was excellent!!!!
Mrs Weasley rocked and her battle skills are fierce

We did not get home until after three and then some construction work woke Amber and I up at 7
Luckily Christopher and Shane (my nephew) slept through it.

Oh and one last thing.......much to Amber's dismay Oliver Wood was not in the movie.
She had read somewhere online that he would be in it but he was not and she was sad.

This brings us to a close for the Harry Potter Experience.
Thank you for joining us.

Have a Fabulous Friday of Fun and Magic

I will share some pics from the night

Hope you enjoy!
 The gang at the theater
Christopher and Shane watching the Deathly Hallows Part 1 on my iPad while we waited in line
Amber and Michelle crying outside the theater

Harry Potter and the WHAT DO I HAVE TO LIVE FOR NOW?!

Heeeeeeelllllllooooooo people of the internet! TODAY, my friends, today is the day. The day of excitement and tears. Laughs....and wanting to rip my heart out. Heart warming overwhelming happiness...and then a never ending spiral of depression into a black abyss. In case you haven't figured this out yet, I am of course talking about the premiere to the final Harry Potter movie.

And in case you haven't figured this out yet either, this is not the woman that you know and love, this is her daughter, Amber. I don't know if you've heard of me because she rarely ever mentions me, her favorite child, on her blog. All joking aside, my loving and caring mother decided that she wanted to surround herself in Harry Potter books, clothes, and movies today and allow the nostalgia to overcome her. So because of this, her blogging duties got passed down to me, her totally awesome daughter.

Anyway, back to business. The premiere's of the movie in NYC and London legitimately made me cry. I was watching them on a livestream and completely bawling my eyes out, as my brother watched and looked at me like I lost my mind. But the argument that I am a bigger Harry Potter fan then either my mom or my brother is a story for another day, today I just wanted to call out a few random things I was thinking about as I remember my entire childhood before midnight tonight when it ends:

1. At the London premiere when Alan Rickman (Severus Snape) came out and walked the red carpet THE ENTIRE CROWD started singing "Snape, Snape, Severus Snape" from the Potter Puppet Pals. (If you haven't watched "The Mysterious Ticking Noise" please promptly go to YouTube and check it out. I'll wait........finished? Good. Moving On). It was probably the funniest thing I have ever seen, and then he told the interviewer that he indeed knew the song and thought that the writers should be millionaires. Which was very nice of him, if I say so myself.

2. MATTHEW LEWIS. Oh My Rowling, Neville Longbottom you looked so so soooo perfect. This man deserves an award for Most Triumphant Emergence Through Puberty, I...I have no more words. I'm taking the next plane to London to marry him.

3. Moving on from the premiere's I just want to say that I think that Draco Malfoy's character is brillant in the books and movies. And Yes, I know that this is the unpopular opinion but I think that Malfoy is in the end the most complex character in the series. Where Harry has no other choice but to be good all the time because of the people he surrounds himself with. Malfoy, one the other hand, is just a misunderstood kid with a father that didn't really care for him and on top of that they are in the circle with the Dark Lord. He had no choice but to be bad. You feel so bad for him because you can tell that it's not what he wants, he so conflicted because of what he knows is right and how he knows he is supposed to act. You see this more towards the end of the series, and it absolutely just breaks your heart. You wanna just give the boy a hug to make everything all better.

4. Oliver Wood. I need more Oliver Wood, all the time. He should be in all the movies and books. AND NO! This is not biased because of my infatuation with Sean Biggerstaff and how I imagine him whisking me away to his home in Scotland and having beautiful little babies with him. He is so determined with his quidditch playing and he thinks the best out of people, which is something that you really look for in a decent person...or a husband.

5. WHERE IS PEEVES?!? The poltergeist, Peeves, is for some unknown reason missing from the movies. Why you may ask? I have absolutely no idea, they have all of those other useless ghosts there but they don't have the trouble-making, hysterical Peeves? For shame, for shame.

6.  The fact that they wear muggle clothes practically the entire time in the movies makes me really irritated. If i ever meet Alfonso Cuaron (the director who made it that they don't have to wear their robes) I will punch him straight in the nose. They are not supposed to do that! They don't even know how to dress like normal muggles in the book, whenever the Weasley's go out in public they look disheveled and terrible because they're no supposed to know how to properly dress. WHY WHY WHY.

But I digress, I will not go on a rant about what I would change and what I would keep about the movies in relation to the books. And you do not want to hear my rant about what a terrible actress Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) is. So I will leave you here, to go about your day as you will, I will take no more of your time.

Tonight at midnight, my entire childhood will end and my skeleton will lie in the cinema forever. Just kidding, but really my mom will most likely have to drag me out of the theater because I will be clinging to my chair refusing to believe that it is all over.

"It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live."

We are just two days away from the premier and our excitment is unstoppable.
No one wants to talk to us because somehow the conversation always goes back to Harry.
We are not dwelling in dreams
We would never not take Dumbledore's advice
However we are daydreaming about Hogwarts and the Wizarding World
Do you think it is unhealthy to be this obsessed?
I don't
Amber doesn't

We have been getting our "outfits" that sounds like a lame word but I can't think of a better one
Costumes doesn't fit because that would elude to the fact they we are dressing as a character
Which we are not
Our clothing will just be Potter themed

This is mine.

Close up of my awesome ring that Amber got me. I love that the owl has Harry-esque glasses

This is Amber's.......it's an awesome quidditch jersey with Number 7 on the back
I made this necklace for Amber using an old optometry glass.
The words are the dedication from the last book.

This is pretty much what the boy will be wearing.....minus the trunk and owl

Lets talk about characters.....
Mrs. Weasley is my favorite character. I just really love the way she was written and the actress who plays her reminds me of my Mom.
I also love Bellatrix Lestrange
I could dress like her easily because we have the same hair.

Dobby and Sirius Black are the boys two favorite characters

Oliver Wood, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Neville Longbottom and Fred and George Weasley are Amber's favorites.....I asked her for two and that is what she gave me
I asked for two again and said "just two this time!!!"
So she said Oliver and Fred and George Weasley......
I am pretty sure that is three
Unless we are now counting twins as One

My least favorite is Draco Malfoy cause I found him to be annoying....although I really like the actor
Amber's least favorite is Gilderoy Lockhart she doesn't know why
The boy's least favorite is Bellatrix....I think he picked her because he was mad that I kept asking who his least favorite is and he knows she is one of my favorites....he is so mean to his Mum sometimes!

Back to favorites if I had to pick a third it would be Snape......I am so going to cry when he dies.

Who is your favorite character? Who is your least favorite?

One last thing....Amber thinks she looks like Harry Potter in this old photo of her from first grade.
Do you agree?

Thats obviously her with the glasses.

Tonight we will be having
Cornish Pasties
Butterbeer cupcakes

Have a Wonderfully Wizardy Wednesday!

Bloody Hell that's Brilliant

As part of the Harry Potter experience.......

Which is what Amber and I are calling it now
because it sounds cooler then Harry Potter week
.....we decided we will only speak to each other using a british accent
we will also throw in as much british slang as we know.....or google knows
additionally Amber has been watching a ton of british youtube videos.
I don't know the difference between british youtube videos and american youtube videos
but I suspect it has a lot of tea drinking and crumpet eating??

Here is a sample conversation which we had while walking around our neighborhood
Me: Bloody Hell its hot out here.
Amber: Clearly you have gone mad woman for making us walk in this heat
Me: Don't be daft the heat will help us in our pursuit to make our arse smaller.
Me: Oh bollocks I drank all of my water. Let me have some of yours.
Amber: That's not bloody likely.
Me: Don't be cheeky. I am your mum give me some of that water.
Amber: You are a pain in my arse.
Amber: Blimey that guy is driving like he is on a race course.
Me: His car looks a little dodgy. I wouldn't drive that fast if I were him.
Amber: So Dad said our british is awful.
Me: Well that's a lot of rubbish I think we sound brilliant.
Amber: You're bloody right we do.
Me: Bloody right indeed.

What do you think? How did we do?

We are just three days away from seeing the movie.
We have out clothes and accessories all picked out.
I can't wait to share them with you.
I think I will do that tomorrow.

The New York Premier was yesterday and it was not nearly as awesome as the London premier
but I didn't expect it to be.
I am not much of an MTV watcher since they stopped playing music videos
which makes me think they should have to change their name
but that is a tale for another time......
I do however love when they have the actors try to say things in "American"
its hilarious and very cute.
Tom Felton the actor who plays Malfoy actually does a great job.
Rupert Grint....whom Amber loves.....not so good.

I wonder if they would think the same about Amber and my attempt at British?

Tonight we dine on
Bangers and Mash
and for desert
Treacle tart (Harry's favorite)

One last thing I would like to share a text conversation with my brother Michael...

from Michael: I'm thinking u need an intervention
from Jennifer: A pottervention? If so I don't want one.
from Michael: Absolutely
from Michael: U R wacked

Not My Daughter You Bitch

There was some debate and concern.....on my part
 as to whether Molly Weasley
would utter these words in the final movie
At the London premier  Julie Walters (the actress who plays Molly) was asked what her favorite line she got to say was and she said....
Not My Daughter You Bitch!
Putting to rest my fear that the line would not be used.
Why do I think it is so important?
Because JK Rowling thought the line was so important that she put the sentence in all bold capital letters.
Because I love Molly Weasley
and this sentence really resonated with me as a mother
Plus Molly is a fierce Mom and it was about time we saw just how fierce she is.

As my daughter said on her tumblr page......
and I quote....
THANK THE LORD AND HEAVEN ABOVE US they didn’t cut the line out because she said bitch. because i know for a fact if they did my own mother would jump up and say it for her, making sure the entire theater heard her.

And she is right I would have.

Speaking of the movie......
Fandago has stated that Deathly Hallows 2 has sold out over 2,000 showing nationwide. It is also the fastest selling movie of the year.
Locally I know our theater has added additional showings because the other four shows were sold out. And this is for the midnight premiere!
When I called the local theater again.....last week to ask about the 3D glasses
The manager told me all of the shows for Friday and Saturday are sold out.
I hung up and was grateful I got my tickets when I did.
Or I would be very sad today!

At the London premiere JK Rowling said
"Whether you come back by page or by screen. Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home."
This woman is amazing!
And just so you know I cried a little when I typed that quote.
I am that much of a Potter Geek.
Don't judge me

So tonight for dinner my family and I will be eating a Potter inspired meal of
Cottage Pie (Shepherd's pie)
Butterbeer
and for desert
A Birthday Cake made to resemble the cake Hagrid made Harry

Have a Magical Monday

Interview With a Vampire........Addict

Today I am interviewing my best blog friend Stacey.

We are known as the Oprah and Gail of the blog world.....at least that's what I call us.
Because I think Stacey is one of the coolest chicks I have ever virtually met and because I believe in sharing
I wanted to let you all get to know her a little bit better
Even if you already read her blog which I certainly hope you do
This interview will give you some insight into the mind of a
super awesome woman/mom/blogger

So lets begin.........

If Hollywood made a movie about your life, whom would you like to see play the lead role as you?

I think Angelina Jolie because she is hot and a badass and has adopted a baby from Cambodia like me,   (I'm sure you can see the resemblance, too. We're like twins. In fact, I get mistaken for her all the time. That's why I've tried to limit my public appearances. Well, that and my new friend, Creeper.)

I think Angelina is a perfect choice for you. There is a rumor floating around that Angelina and Brad will be renting a house in Bluebell which is not too far from where I live. If the rumors are true I will stop by and let her know to start reading your blog so she can prepare for the role. By the way she also collects vampire books and you love vampires so you have that in common too.

Let's see what else you have in common. Her favorite beverage is tequila and tea.
 What is your favorite beverage?
For the evening: Manhattan. Straight up. Preferably with Knobb Creek or Maker's Mark, but generally my bourbon of budgetary choice is Ezra Brooks. Ezzie, as I fondly call him. STIRRED NOT SHAKEN. I will be kind, but I will let you know if you mess that up. It is very very important to me and this is not the movie Cocktail, people.
In the morning: if I really get my wish,... a ginormous nonfat mocha, no whip, easy on the chocolate.
In general: Water.
I'm not picky or anything.

Well then you know what you like and you know how you like it....there is nothing wrong with that.

Why did you start blogging
Really I started because I wanted to practice my writing. Eventually I want to write my first novel about demons, angels, vampires, and everyf---ingthingelse (DAVE as it is known in my house). Then I started having fun with it and no I think maybe I have a problem. I am addicted.

That actually sounds like a cool idea! Have you started writing or is it in the outline phase?
Thanks! It's in the outline and research phase. The whole front room of my house is known as the DAVE room. It's where the magic happens... where I read and write, and keep all my notes for the novel.

DAVE Room

Thanks for sharing the photo of your DAVE room. I have no doubt that you will finish DAVE someday so my next questions is well really two questions.

Will you use your own name or a nom de plume? Do you think your blogging will change after you're an awesome successful writer?
I think I want a nom de plume. I would love to pick something really cute and fun and sexy sounding. Something truly unforgettable. On the other hand, it would be really super cool to see my name on a printed book.

I hadn't even thought about it, really,...  this all started with a dream after which my angels compelled me to write the novel, so I hadn't thought about being successful.I mean beyond the dream of wealth beyond imagination, but I always just figured I'd win the lottery (even though I don't buy tickets).

I suppose it would. I guess if I think about it, though, all my life experiences influence my writing, so something like that would have to. I don't know how I'd find the time, but... I am addicted, after all so something else would have to give.

I agree seeing your name on the cover of a novel would be crazy awesome.

I have many fears one of which is people reading my writing. I am trying to overcome that with this blog.

Do you have any fears or phobias?
Hm. Fears and Phobias. I think my top 3 would be:
My local elementary PTA.
The Exorcist demon showing up in my attic.
Serial killers that find me before they're captured.
In that order.

Wow those are some legit fears right there! We had a squirrel in our attic last summer and I swore it was the Exorcist Demon it was really frightening. The serial killer thing I can agree with too as I am always imagining someone is behind me or waiting in the dark shadows between the garage and the house.

Some final even more random questions......

Mac or PC?
PC. I'm too hard on technology to get a Mac. It's this force field I have around me... crashes every piece of tech equipment I have in one year or less. I would so be a mac girl if I could.

Harry Potter or Twilight?
Twilight, though that's a tough call. Only because I am in love with vampires.

Coffee or Tea?
Coffee unless I'm sick, then hot tea. Mmmmmmmmmmmm!

Chocolate or Vanilla Oreo Cookies?
Chocolate all the way. I love them so much I don't think I've ever tried vanilla.
My ass thanks you for this craving now. :)

You hurt me a little with the Twilight over Harry but I will forgive you.
Vanilla Oreos are my latest addiction I can not stop eating them!

Thank you Stacey for letting me interview you.

Have a Fabulous Friday!
