Hello to everyone coming from She Writes Blogger Ball. Welcome to my blog. To my 14 regular followers HI! If you are not familiar with She Writes you should hop on over and check it out.
So this is my Getting To Know You Post, which is part of the blog hop. I had already done a 10 Things About Me post a few posts ago so I thought I would stick with that format and add 10 more things. I think this is a great way to get to know people. A less formal more friendly way!
So here goes:
One last thing a little story.....One day while driving home from work I was stuck at a traffic light. I began to have that feeling you know that prickly feeling on your neck when you know someone is looking at you. So I turned my head to the right and sitting in the drivers seat of the car next to me was a clown in full clown getup....creepy makeup, curly wig, white gloves. It lifted its horrid white gloved hand and eerily waved to me....some might say happily waved but those people are crazy! I quickly turned my head but I could just feel it staring at me. I cautiously looked back and it was motioning me slowly to roll down my window. I screamed NO and started to cry. I quickly dialed my sister and hysterically told her what was happening and you know what she did? She laughed! Can you believe that? At least the clown had the decency to look sorry although mouthing Sorry with your red malicious painted lips only creeped me out more.
So now you know a lot about me maybe too much...............

So here goes:
- I am one of eleven children
- I am an IT "Guy" by trade
- My son thinks his tongue turns black if he lies and only mothers can see the change. My daughter also still believes this.......because it is TRUE right everybody?
- I have read every Stephen King book even IT which is crazy because I am sooooo afraid of clowns.
- I have to remove all of the side effect labels from my medication because if I read them then I WILL have them.
- I recently submitted my first ever short story to a short story magazine.....I haven't been rejected yet so I still have hope.
- My middle name is Joy
- I watch way too much television
- I run past dark rooms because I imagine someone is waiting in the dark to grab me

Lovely picture of the moment you realized...though some people do get freaked by clowns! We've 'met' before, so just dropping by to say hello - and give you a follow.
Stopping in from the Bloggers Ball... I totally get your thing with clowns--they scare me too.
I read IT when I was about 13 (I know, what was I thinking...). My Dad, being quite the practical joker, unscrewed the shower drain and left balloons floating in the bathroom for me to find. I think it's hysterical now, but I don't think I spoke to him for a few days...
Happy writing and reading!

Not at all - I am laughing along with your sister!
Stopping in from the Blogger Ball. Nice to get to know you. Love the blog and now a follower.
Love the post - even the scary clown story. I had to stop reading "IT" 1/2 way through because I was havign nightmares (only King book I ever tried to read).
I also love The Lonely Doll. Just read it with my 7 yr-old daughter a couple months ago. Such a classic.
How can I find you on She Writes? I'm Jamie Wallace - would love to connect. :)
Good luck with the magazine story submission. I'm crossing my fingers for you.
Thanks Kelly!
Jaime - You should be able to just search my name I think.
I'm also following your blog! Thanks so much for stopping by mine on the She Writes Blogger Hop! Keep writing!
Hello! I am dropping by for the blogger ball to come and see your blog. I loved the name, had to come check it out. I'm now a new follower. I love your 10 things about me- I too would have freaked out with the clown at the light thing. Totally 100%. That kind of thing just makes my blood run icy icy cold. Thanks for coming by my blog! I am looking forward to reading more of yours :)
Hi there! I am visiting from She Writes and I love your blog. Am laughing along with your sister...are you feeling any better?
Good luck with your magazine story and see you around!
Enjoyed your blog - creeped out by the clown, but giggling about the black tongue and lies. I've honestly never heard of that one before...but I guarantee I'll remember it!
Oh my God! I wanted to cry for you that nasty Clown why would he do that?
Came this way from the ball and am so happy I did.
Fun blog. I am following your blog because of She Writes Blogger Hop. I havent actually hopped on over to that yet cause I cant access it at work. But I got a kick out of your 9 listings about yourself so...
I dont read much Stephen King but love Dean Koontz.
I watch way too much TV too. Infact, my new years resolution for this year is to read more and watch less TV. However, not while American Idol is on!!
Good luck with your first short story submission.
That is so funny about your son thinking his tongue will turn black if he lies. Hmmm, sounds like a good idea for a picture book!!
