"And you call yourself a book blog".
This was an email statement I received from a fellow "book blogger". Apparently I am not talking about books enough to be called a book blog and so I should stop misrepresenting myself.
Can I just say WOW. Seriously? Misrepresenting myself? Really?
And that is all I am going to say about that.
Anyway ........... I have been focusing a lot on my writing. I have set a goal to finish the YA Book I started last year. As I have no formal training I am flopping around in this process and its kind of getting on my nerves.
My darling daughter gave me a book called
Writing Down The Bones by Natalie Goldberg
It is filled with amazing nuggets of information on writing. It touches on everything from the kind of pen you should use to how to hold onto an idea. I am loving this book right now because it is easy to refer to when I get lost in my own process.
The writer talks about writing as a spiritual practice and something that should feel freeing. Her zen and enthusiastic approach aids in motivating the reader to do what they love. I have not finished reading this book yet but I can tell you it will become a staple in my pursuit of better writing.

Well, as we say over here, aren't there some funny people around...! I hope your correspondent doesn't visit my blog because I'm a writer who (gulp!) doesn't talk about books all that much. But only in the sense that neither of us blog about breathing that much, or hitting the keys on the computer. And I thought the whole point about blogging was individual freedom of expression!
Life, books, understanding, writing...surely it's all part of the whole. Keep on being yourself - I'm certainly continuing to enjoy your blog.
Can't believe the gall! Are you a Seinfeld fan? I officially dub this offensive person the 'blog nazi'! hahahhaahhaah Surely, he/she has heard the word 'eclectic'....
I LOVE YOUR BLOG! I think I signed up originally b/c I love books and reading and libraries, but well,... hence the READING part! I love reading your blog no matter what you write about! I also thought blogging was all about self expression. I guess (thankfully!) no one's told me yet (gulp!) I should only be writing about Nail Polish.

this, however, is coming from a girl who doesn't have a very functional relationship with the word 'should.' :-) I like you being you!
Thaks ladies. I apparently shouldn't have signed up for the book blogs group or something? I don't know. I will assume she was just having a bad day and decided to take it out on me. I was originally not even going to respond to the email because it just seemed like I was being baited into some sort of blog war. hahaha. But I did eventually respond after checking out her blog and I just asked her if she could forward me the official blog rule book so I could avoid and future mistakes. I addressed the email to: dear crazy blog bully...hahaha
Stacey- hahaha I follow your blog because I love nail polish and you seem like a very fun/funny person. Can you imagine taking yourself so seriously that you need to reprimand other bloggers for not following some kind of strict content code....and I thought I was crazy!
Lesa- Huge Seinfeld fan in fact at work I refer to my blog as the Seinfeld of blogs because it is about nothing. This woman's blog is very nice and she is serious about her book reviews which is great book I never pretended to be a book critic.
Deborah - you made me laugh. Yours is one of my favorite blogs. If she happens to go through my blogs I follow list I think she will find that most provide a variety of topics which makes visiting them more enjoyable.
That is exactly the kind of person I fear! I blog about books but I also blog about my day and other random things. I think everyone should blog about whatever they want. After all isn't that the point? I absolutely adore books and reading but I am so much more than that. I love to get book ideas from other blogs but I also enjoy just as much all of the other things people blog about. I joined your blog on a day you didn't write about books:)I thought our followers follow because of ALL the things we blog about. Keep up the good work!

Ooh, ooh! I have this book! And I LOVE it! Very nice addition to your writerly library.
Misrepresenting yourself? Pshh. Blow 'em off. I love your book blog!
YIKES. I don't even know what to say about this - but I will say that I enjoy reading your blog IMMENSELY. Don't ever change! :)

I don't see how your representing of yourself is any skin off her nose. =S I have a very eclectic blog myself, which ended up a "book blog" only because I admittedly do more book posts than movie posts. The only thing I'm worried about is that people who find me through the Book Blogs ning or comments I leave on their book blogs get confused when they visit. =P But some of them like the randomness and come back.
