I was very lucky to be able to take a few days off of work and relax this past holiday weekend.
I have been under a lot of stress which isn't good for a crazy person like me.
Stress leads to anxiety and panic and that leads to trips to the emergency room
and the doctor who always seems to be there when I show up all hyperventilating and claiming a heart attack like the old guy from Sanford and Son
told me that I need to get a hobby
And I did
Blogging
and so far so good!
But anyway we took a trip to Lake Harmony in the Pocono Mountains
My brother in-law and his family rented a house for the week
and we took them up on their offer to join them for the holiday weekend.
I am not one for bugs and camping and other things that you would associate with mountains
but being on the lake is amazing.
The company wasn't bad either
Our first day it rained but the rain on the water was calming and peaceful
Lucky for us there was a nice little shed/cabana that we could duck into to escape the heavy rain.
It also helped that we had a giant bag of Swedish Fish......yum!
After the rain the lake was beautiful
The sun started to peek out from behind the clouds
Because it was the 4th of July there was to be a big firework show on the lake.
As evening approached the boats started to gather waiting for the show. It really was very lovely.
It was an exciting end to a great day.
The next morning brought the sun
And the sun brought swimming.....not me I am a pool person
No Ocean No Lake
The boy had his first chance to kayak
I was nervous
He told me to stop embarrassing him
I told him NEVER
He rowed further away
Much to my dismay the boy asked if he could stay for the week without us.
I agreed.
I cried
it is the first time he has been without Chris or I.
I miss him.
He is having a blast!

Looks like a beautiful and enjoyable place........yes sometimes it is the only thing we need, go away and rest.
PS: Your photos are awesome!
I am glad that you had a lovely break. The pictures are very beautiful. As for your little one, well, it's only the start and if he is happy, what can you do?
Kids likely became addicted to Swedish Fish to explain the desire to stay. Hard for a mom to compete with that fruit taste!
I'm SOOOOOO glad you had this time! The photos look lovely!
What fun!!!!
Cheers to a short week back!
I still haven't gotten over the first time my kids went off without me, and it's been years.
Thanks everyone.
Wow, the pictures are gorgeous. I love the fireworks over the lake.
I'm also totally addicted to Swedish Fish and I could eat that whole bag! I can't stop eating them once I start.
Glad you got to get away and had such a nice trip!
Great photos! Glad you had fun. :D
As for your son - Kids grow up so fast. Sigh...
