I love the Walking Dead

As you may know from previous blog posts....

I love the Walking Dead

I love everything about it.

The acting

the writing

the zombies

the scenery

dare I even say.....the violence

I may have also already mentioned that my brother Michael

you may remember him as the most amazing brother in the world 

is the first to introduce me to the world of zombies when he took me to see Night of the Living Dead.

It was this movie that sealed my love for the decaying flesh of the zombie.

This summer I decided to read all of the comics

I originally purchased them from Barnes in Noble via Book 1 which featured the first 12 comics put together nicely in a single book.

But that started getting a little pricey as each book was 14.99 

One day while wondering the isles of Barnes and Noble I found the Walking Dead Compendium

which contained 1-48

Needless to say I snatched that up because it was way cheaper than purchasing 

all of those individual books.

The only complaint I had with it is that it is about the size of a Philadelphia phone book 

and just as heavy.

There are a few differences between the comics and the television show.

None that really bother me.

After all as a Stephen King fan I am used to film writers/ television writers making random unnecessary changes to a very good story.

Usually with King however it ends up being awful.

But with this it's not too bad.

My only disappointment is actually with the comics and that is that there is no Daryl Dixon character

and I love Daryl Dixon

  

Anyway a coworker.....well sort of.....had the rest of the books and with those it brought me up to comic 100 and since then I have been purchasing the comics myself as they come out.

The only problem with that is that I got used to the giant book or the smaller book containing multiple comics so the actual comic books seem so short.

It's kind of like someone setting a cupcake in front of you and you just want to devour the whole thing but you are only allowed to like nibble little pieces off once a month at random times.

I am a huge fan of television 

I am not proud to say

But this season I have only been really addicted to two shows.

The Walking Dead and Homeland 

The rest of the shows I watch I don't mind if I miss and episode 

or if I read a spoiler

But these shows I can't miss and if I do then I am waking up at the crack of dawn to watch them before I go to work.

American Horror is no where near as good this year and that makes me sad because that was one of my most favorite shows last year.

Anyway......

I now consider myself a comic book nerd

just one more nerdy thing to add to the list of nerdy things about me.

Walking Dead. In case you didn't know....I hate Shane

Spoiler Alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I forgot to put that on my last post about the Walking Dead and people were MAD! 

Sorry geez. Relax.

So on last nights episode titled Judge, Jury, Executioner

Daryl interro-tortures the Randall the captive.

I don't like this kid.

He creeps me out.

So I am not sad that Daryl is kicking the crap out of him.

Amber who is home on break and is watching with me feels differently.

She feels sorry for the kid. I tell her to be quiet while she is in the Mom cave.

She puts on a frowny face......but I ignore her.

Anyway so Daryl goes back to the group and says he thinks he is bad news.

Rick decides the kid has to die for the safety of the group.

Of course Shane aka lets kill everybody aka lunatic agrees.

So does everyone else except Dale.

Dale convinces Rick to allow him to talk to the rest of the group 

to see if he can convince them to let the kid live.

So who does Dale go to first?

Crazy ass Andrea.

What the hell Dale, will you please get over your fatherly obsession with this crazy bitch?

So Dale asks crazy Andrea to guard Randall basically from Shane while he gets the input from the group.

Andrea agrees and while sitting there Shane wanders by comments on the fact that Andrea wouldn't stop him if he wanted to go in there and then says Rick is never going to follow through and that basically Rick is the cause of all of their problems. 

So Andrea quietly walks behind Shane and puts a bullet through his arrogant, insane, blood thirsty head.

And then shoots herself........

That actually didn't happen but I wish it did.

Meanwhile that son of a bitch carl who seriously needs to get his ass beat climbs into the barn and is all like hey prisoner whats up? Even though everyone including nutjob Shane told him to stay the hell out of there.

Randall starts begging Carl to help him and saying how he didn't do anything and Carl starts walking toward him......at first I thought oh shit he is going to shoot Randall himself but then Shane comes running in and shoves his gun in Randall's face because he is tough like that.

He yells at Carl like he has some kind of right and than send the kid on his way.

Dale goes to Daryl about Randall but Daryl is all....this group is broken. He says he doesn't care either way what happens. Dale is sad because he is the last human being in the group.....I added that part but its true.

Rick is tying and noose and Lori, who is really starting to grate on my nerves walks in all like Oh my God is that how you are going to kill him? And blah blah blah I have an opinion and I will manipulate you to do what I want by making you think it is your idea.....I recognize this tactic as I use it quite frequently to get my husband to do things my way.......She then asks about Shane and stupidly Rick responds that Shane won't be a problem.....Oh Rick how I love your stupid naive ways.

Carl tries to be all badass with Carol about Sophia and that does not make her happy she tells Rick and Lori that their son is a rude little jerk.

Dale wanders around trying to get someone just anyone to join his humanity team 

but ehhh no one is interested.

Carl happens upon a gun while snooping in Daryl's camp..... but he puts it right back because he almost died from getting shot.....nope I added that he is a moron and instead takes the gun and guess what he does? Wanders into the woods....where there are zombies and where he was shot and where Sophia was lost and then zombified.....but you whatevs he is cool and shit.

*****Meanwhile right at this moment of shear anxiety over Carl's stupidity....Amber leaves to go out with her friends and asks me to text her what happens to Carl.....but I won't because she should be staying home with me instead so......sucks to be her she will have to watch it to find out what happens.

Back to this.....Guess what happens?

Yep you are right he runs into a walker aka zombie and starts to run  away but then he realizes that the things feet are stuck in the mud so he does what any normal kid would do....he throws rocks at it.

He keeps getting closer and closer and than finally pulls the gun. But the zombie unsticks itself and grabs him by the leg. He gets away and I want to go through the television and beat his little ass.

Back at the farm they meet about Randall and dale begs, pleads and begs again but the only one to come to his side is Andrea which is kind of weird but I am glad she did.

The decision is made Randall must die.

As the sun sets Rick, Shane and Daryl drag Randall to the barn to be executed.

Randall begs for his life and in walks Carl.....is no one watching this kid??????

He says "dad do it" because he has been hanging around with Shane too long.

And Rick puts down his gun and tells Daryl to take him back to the holding barn/slaughter barn.

Shane has his I knew it face .....which I just can't stand

Rick goes back and tells the camp that they will be holding the prisoner for now.

Lori looks kind of disappointed but tells Rick its ok.

Andrea runs off to find Dale to tell him the news.

Dale is walking through the field when he hears an injured animal.

Its a cow whose stomach is completely ripped open.

As he turns to run the walker tackles him and proceeds to very grossly and what appears to be very painfully rip Dale's stomach open......by the way its the walker that Carl was messing with in the woods.

Dale screams.....obviously are head back at the camp and everyone starts running toward the screams. 

Carl is told to go directly to the house and lock the doors.

Daryl gets there and stabs the walker in the head.

Andrea is holding Dale who is like gutted....its so gross and awesome but mostly gross.

Hershel comes and pronounces dale unmove-able/ unsave-able.

Carl is there because you know his parents told him to go lock himself in the house but why should he listen to them......he sees that its the same walker and then runs to his mommy crying......what a sissy.

Everyone realizes dale is in pain and suffering so he should be put out of his misery. 

Rick can't do it so Daryl puts the gun to Dale's head. Dale moves his head closer so that the gun is pressed against it. His way of telling Daryl this is what he wants? 

And Daryl says sorry brother. He fires. The screen goes to black.

Another great episode. There are only two episodes left.....that makes me very sad.

Walking Dead recap: Rick is badass. Shane is just an ass.

Last night was the winter premiere of Walkind Dead.

I have been eagerly awaiting it's return as it is my favorite show on television.

So here is the recap of last nights episode titled 

Nebraska

It starts with Rick lowering his gun after the shooting spree on the barn zombies including poor little Sophia. People are crying and Shane is his typical fashion is acting like a giant douchebag. I want so bad for someone to punch him in the face or better yet put a bullet in his head and if that happens...if dreams really do come true.....I want it to be Dale who finally shuts him up.

Anyway they decide to bury the barn zombies that were family to the farm people as well as little Sophia.

Andrea who comes in very close as the second most annoying person is all like lets burn these zombies....ugh I hate her tough girl bullshit. It is so ridiculous.

Shane and some of the others believe that Hershel knew that Sophia was in the barn this whole time. Rick disagrees and when he asks Hershel he tells him that Otis aka wonky eye is the one who put the people in the barn. Dale and Shane have another sort of confrontation and Shane as usual comes off looking like a giant egomaniacal jerk. Dale then tries to warn Lori that Shane is coo coo for cocoa puffs and that he probably killed Otis. He even says what I have been thinking "sooner or later he will kill someone else". In the farm house Beth collapses and no one can find Hershel...who was last seen packing up his wife's things. The farm people tell Rick he is maybe at his old favorite bar and so Rick and Glenn go to look for him. Lori is not happy about Rick going and Maggie is not happy about Glenn going. They go anyway....*shakes head* men.   

Daryl....my favorite other than Rick tells Lori to go screw herself....not in those words....he is tired of looking for people.

Lori...because she is a god damn idiot hops in the car to go to town and look for Rick, Glenn and Hershel. I say again idiot because a zombie comes out of no where she hits it and then the car and her go tumbling into the trees on the side of the road.

Rick and Glenn find Hershel drinking his sorrows and then two random people show up. They are from Philly so I'm like hey guys I'm from Philly to.....but they don't answer me because they are on tv and probably not really from Philly. There is one fat guy who probably had too many cheesesteaks and a skinny guy who actually played a serial killer on True Blood they are telling Rick and company about a rumor that Nebraska is the place to be because they have a small heavily armed population. Anyway I realize pretty quickly that I don't like these two Philly guys. They want to know where the farm is and they want to come and stay. Anyone who knows anything about zombie apocalypses knows that people like that are just trying to steal your weapons and supplies! They start to get a little pushy about wanting to know and the tension gets crazy....the skinny guy goes for his gun but Rick beats him to the draw and shoots him dead. He then turns to fatty and shoots him too for good measure.....Rick is badass! It was like a classic western or a quick draw McGraw cartoon.

It ends with TDog, Andrea and Shane setting the zombie bodies a flame.

I would like to say if Lori is going to be missing than I will be very pissed. I am as tired as Daryl about people being missing on this show. I love this show it is perfect please writers and AMC network do not mess up a good thing!

Shit I have to go back to work and I hate Shane from the walking dead

Well I have to go back to work today.

My nice week long break is over.

I can not tell you how hard it was to get up this morning and put on something other then jeans.

Another reason it was so hard is because The Walking Dead really was intense and I had a hard time going to sleep after watching it.

*******SPOILER ALERT*********

So Dale kind of sort of forced poor Glenn to tell the gang that Hershel and his people are keeping walkers in the barn.

I guess Glenn won't be getting laid anytime soon because Maggie is pissed!

Shane is a freaking lunatic and starts going crazy about the close proximity of the barn to their camp.

Rick says he wants to speak to Hershel before they just go all Call of Duty on the barn zombies

Hershel pretty much says get the fuck of my property if you have a problem with my zombie collection.

Rick tells him Lori is pregnant so they need to stay for the baby's safety.

He then refers to Glenn as the Asian boy and tells Maggie he can't stay and she needs to get over it.

She tells him he is a hypocrite jackass who is worried about killing zombies because they are people but will send real people out to the dangerous world outside of their farm.

I love Daryl more and more each episode and I hate Shane more and more each episode.

Daryl is like a ray of hope. Believing that Sophia will be found safe and sound.

Even her own mother is starting to believe that this is not true but she ends up agreeing with Daryl probably because she want to have sex with him........or maybe its just me.

Andrea continues to make me wish for her swift and painful death.

Although since she had sex with Shane she isn't all "oh I want to be dead" she is still annoying.

Her and Shane should just go away together.

Rick tells Shane that Lori is pregnant and of course Shane thinks its his.

Lori tells him to get over it because either way they will never be together.

Shane is a giant douche bag!

Dale steals all of the guns.....not sure why

He takes them into the woods but creepy Shane followed him.

They have words and oh how I wish Dale had the balls to just shoot him but he doesn't.

Shane is a ticking time bomb of emotion.

Maggie isn't mad so I guess Glenn will be getting laid again.....good for him.

Hershel comes and asks for Rick's help with something.

What could it me?

Zombie wrangling!

Really dude just kill the damn things

But no Hershel has a soft spot for stray zombies or he needs a housewife and mechanic to finish his collection.

Shane the lunatic starts to rally the camp.

He starts handing out guns even to little Carl until Lori gets in the way

God would I wouldn't give for Lori to punch him in the face.

Rick and Hershel are spotted by the T Dog with their new pet zombies

Guess what happens.........Shane gets mad

Oh my God how out of character for him

He starts telling Hershel that these are not people and to prove his point he starts shooting the female zombie.

Finally he shoots it in the head and then goes bat shit crazy breaking the locks on the barn.

I was praying that he would just get ripped apart but no he just starts shooting.

Annoying Andrea joins him.....

then everyone does cause there pretty much is not choice at that point.

In the end Hershel and his people are crying and devastated.

These were their people.

neighbors

family members

friends

and there they are strewn about in the dirt
 in front of the open barn doors.

Guns are lowered

but wait is that another one?

I think I hear that moaning zombie sound.

Yes there is one coming out and who should it be?

Sophia!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Yes

Carol is screaming her poor daughters name while everyone else just stares.

Carl is very upset and Lori tells him to look away

No one moves as she gets closer and closer.

Finally Rick walks up to her and puts a bullet into her brain.

The end

until February 12th......I can not wait!

Once Upon a Time there was the Walking Dead

I watch two shows on Sunday nights.

Once Upon a Time and The Walking Dead.

These shows could not possibly be any more different.

Last night I realized how creepy it was to go from Storybrooke, Maine

the quaint little town in Once Upon a Time. 

Where all the characters from your favorite fairytale characters live.

Only they don't know they are fairytale characters because of a curse put on them by the evil queen.

to end up in the zombie apocalypse world of The Walking Dead.

Where the characters are living in a nightmare!

Both shows are really great....although I do like The Walking Dead just a smidgen more. 

Which brings me to my summary of last nights episode.....

*********Spoiler Alert**********

Last night on The Walking Dead

We found Carl on the mend.

The rest of the group made it to the farm and began to set up camp.

 Doctor Hershel tells Rick that his people can not stay, that after Carl is better they have to leave.

While getting water from a well Dale and T-Dog discover a walker all bloated and gross at the bottom.

The group decides that it would be best not to shoot it because the blood will get into the water and contaminate it.

They try to lure it with ham but realize that they need live bait.

Glenn is reluctantly lowered into the well.

He needs to get a rope around the walker so they can haul it up and kill it.

Needless to say something goes wrong and Glenn is dropped too close but he is able to get the rope around its neck and is hauled up before being bitten.

Unfortunately the thing very grossly rips in half and the legs end other gooey stuff ends up in the well.

Guess they won't be using that well anymore.

Oh and T-Dog bashes the damn things head in.....ewwww!

Glenn and Maggie head to town to go to the Pharmacy to gather some medication.

Lori has asked him to try and locate a pregnancy test. After finding it he tries to hide it from Maggie and she thinks he is grabbing condoms. 

She says she would like to have sex with him and so she takes off her clothes.

Daryl is off searching for Sophia.

It was decided that Rick is too weak after giving all that blood and Shane is still hurt from his mission to get the equipment for Carl's surgery.

So Daryl is out searching and he happens upon an abandoned house.

He sees traces of someone who may have hidden there recently so he starts calling out for Sophia.

He spots a Cherokee Rose growing in the field.

he picks it and gives it to Carol and tells her the lovely story of the Cherokee Rose....who knew he could be so sweet?

Rick begs Dr. Hershel to let them stay.

He tells him he has no idea what its like out there.

Dr. Hershel tells him he will consider it.

Lori goes out into the field and pees on the pregnancy test.

The test reads positive!

dun dun duh!

Walking Dead please stop making me cry!

I'm sorry to have to do this.

For those of you who do not watch the Walking Dead I apologize for boring you.

But I just have to talk about it.

I love the show.

I really and truly do.

I just don't want to cry while watching it.

I want to be scared.

I want to scream.... "run".

I want to cover my face with a pillow because a zombie is getting beat over the head with a baseball bat.

I don't want to cry!

So last night we are met with Rick running across a field with his bleeding son cradled in his arms.

He is struggling and you can see the determination in his face as he races to the farm where a doctor lives.

How does he know a doctor lives there?

The dumb ass who shot his son told him.

By the way its that creepy actor you know but don't know his name.

He always plays some kind of crazy person

he is sort of fat with a wonky eye......

Anyway Rick is racing towards a farm and the doctor starts giving out orders and determines that Carl is alive but barely and he needs blood.

So the kid is laying there looking gray and sad and the tears are just rolling down my face.

Meanwhile the rest of the group is still making their way through the woods looking for Sophia.

Lori is kind of looking back. They heard the shot and she is worried.

Back at the farm one of the women rushes out to get Rick.

Carl needs blood.

When they open the door the kid is screaming as the doctor digs into his wound to pull out bullet fragments.

I can't take it! 

I am like screaming for someone to give the kid something!

But you know this is the zombie apocalypse and its not like they can take the kid to a hospital!

The doctor basically says the kids gonna die if he can't put him under so he can cut him open and get the rest of the bullet.

Wonky eye says "oh well there is the hospital 5 miles up but its crawling 

with Walkers" (what they call zombies)
So wonky eye and Shane leave to get what is needed from the hospital.
One of the women goes out to find Lori to bring her back to the farm.
So here is where the sobbing started.
Lori comes riding up on a horse.
Rick runs out to meet her.
She collapses in his arms.
Pulls away from him and runs to the house.
When she walks in and sees her son all gray and shot..... her face just crumbles
She climbs onto the bed and lays next to her son saying "Momma is here, Momma is here"
and I am sobbing so bad that I am pretty sure I made my neighbors dog bark.

Meanwhile........
The gang is back on the highway trying to decide if they should stay and wait for Sophia to maybe come back or if they should head to the farm and meet back up with Rick, Shane, Lori and the dying Carl.
Oh and the stupid whiny blonde was attacked yet again and is all pissy because Dale didn't let her die back at the CDC building.
I thinks its sad when I just wish she would cause I am tired of her whiny bullshit.

At the hospital Shane and wonky eye throw some flares to draw the attention away from the equipment trailer but oh shit when its time to leave the trailer the zombies are just waiting there for them.
They run and I am like "run wonky run" cause hes kind of chunky and I am pretty sure he is gonna get eaten.
But they make it into a building and thats where it ends......with some zombie hands reaching in through the gate trying to grab them so they can eat their brains!

In conclusion I look like hell this morning because of all the crying....Thanks Walking Dead!

Walkind Dead

Last night was the premiere of Walking Dead!

********Spoiler Alert**********

We find our friends loading up their vehicles and driving down the highway.

They run into an obstacle across the road and then suddenly the RV dies.

As they are scavenging the cars left in the road...some with dead people inside

Suddenly some walkers show up and Oh My God are they freaking creepy.

Its very dramatic as they are hiding under the cars and the kids are separated

from their parents. The little girls Mom is all kinds of crazy. 

The pain in the ass blonde who the old man "saved" last season

A save I am sure he is regretting cause she is being a nasty bitch now

gets trapped in the RV with a walker and she stabs him in the eye with a screwdriver.....So cool!

Just as you think they survived and the herd of walkers has passed

OH NO a walker hears the little girl and now he is climbing under the car to get her

She runs and the walkers chase after her

Our hero Rick goes after the walkers....but he can't use his gun cause it will alert 

the herd that has passed.

So he hides the little girl....who turns out to be a stupid little girl cause she leaves the spot he put her

and he lures the two walkers away and then kills them both by 

smashing them in the head with a big rock......

Side Note........this is why I love zombies and this show in particular. 

I love the old school zombie rules it follows.....they aren't super fast or super strong. 

They can be killed and sometimes its as simple as smashing them in the head with a rock 

or ramming a screwdriver through their eye.

Its just so cool!

Anyway so Rick goes back and the kid is gone.

The Mom is all like "How could you leave her?"

So he goes back out to search.

The annoying blonde woman aka Andrea is all like "I want my gun" and "you should have let me die"

blah blah blah stop your damn whining there is a kid missing.

So our group hears church bells and when they find the church there are some walkers sitting in the pews which was creepy awesome. 

They decide to split up with Rick and that loser Shane staying behind to continue the search.

Carl is like "I want to stay Sophia is my friend" and for some unknown  freaking reason

his parents are like "Yeah thats cool what the hell lets just put all the kids in danger" so he stays behind with his Dad and the dude his Mom was screwing when she thought her husband was dead.

The other group leaves and Lori is all like "get off my husbands back no one else would have even chased after the kid in the first place" and everyone looks down in shame.

Rick, Shane and Carl are walking along and they see a deer.....oh wait Rick talks to the statue of Jesus in the church and asks for a sign......so I am thinking he thinks this beautiful buck is a sign.....anyway Shane raises his rifle....which is weird because they won't shoot the zombies because it makes too much noise but we will shoot a deer?......and Rick motions him to stop because Carl is like mesmerized by the deer and he starts walking toward it. It is a very beautiful moment

and then BANG!

the deer gets shot and the bullet goes right through the deer and into the kid.

They both go down and...........the screen goes black. 

Credits roll

and I know I will not sleep a wink!

So basically it was like kill the kids off night on the Walking Dead.
