Do you have a place that you go when you want to think
or
Don't want to think?
Well I do
I have mentioned before that I have a Mom Cave aka Our Formal Living Room
Everything in this room belongs to me and only me.
There are no toys
There are no video games
There are no sports (except Hockey.... Go Flyers)
There are no car magazines
There are no dirty socks hiding between the sofa cushions.
It's my own space to read, write or think
or
watch Glee!
The best thing about this space besides the fact that it is a kid free zone
is that I can surround myself with things that make me comfortable so after a hard day of work I can plant myself in this room and attempt to erase the day.
Occasionally my son visits me in my cave.
He will come in and announce that he washed his hands and that he took off his dirty socks
I look him over and then
I will nod towards the love seat and he will sit with his book and read.
He too needs to get away from the chaos of the rest of the house sometimes.
I claimed this room after my daughter left for college
I proclaimed that with her gone there was too much testosterone in our house.
My son
Both of our dogs are male
My sons two lizards are male (or so he says)
His fish are also all male and so is his turtle.
I was out numbered and I needed a feminine space
Do you have a space that is all your own? What did you fill it with?
or
Don't want to think?

I love the Mom cave! Beautiful.
Very good idea. I just have a very small desk where I can work. I would love to have a cave...
I do actually! I'll be right back, I'm going to post about this. :P
Here you go! http://comacalm.blogspot.com/2011/04/where-do-you-go-to-be-alone.html
No, I don't have a space all to myself but I'm working on getting one!
Um, no... I haven't had a place that's "mine" since I moved out of my parents' house. My room there was the last time I've had space that I wasn't sharing with someone else. I think if I had a place like that, now, it would probably look kind of the same as it did then. Walls covered with posters. A desk for painting and finished and unfinished miniatures all over the place. A computer for writing. Organized chaos.

@ Andrew - No man cave? My husband has his garage and my kids have their rooms so I thought I should have a space.
@ Lesa - I hope you get one soon!
@ ComaCalm - I love the space you made for yourself.
@ MuMuGB - A desk filled with stuff you love is a start.
@ V.Furnas - Thanks!
Nope, no room for it...:( It's so sad.
Maybe, again, soon, though.
Lovely, lovely cave! So peaceful and calm. I ADORE your arm chairs. :D
I have to admit, I do my best thinking and creating of scenes and story lines when soaking in a tub. Bring on the bubbles!
